Noise is unwanted sound. Many workplaces are noisy. Prolonged exposure to excessively loud noise can cause noise-induced deafness  (NID). The effects of ageing aggravate this problem. Exposure to noise above 85dB(A) over 8 hours over a long period of time can result in deafness and the deafness can seriously affect our day-to-day living.
